Entry: cost
Domain rank checker API: what every action costs
One credit is $0.0001. This entry tabulates the price and the per-call limit of each action, then prices three example jobs.
Cost and limit per action
| Action | Credits | Dollars per call | Limit per call |
|---|---|---|---|
| domain, overview, stats, suggest | 0 | $0 | No key needed |
| bulk_dr | 1 | $0.0001 | Up to 2,000 domains |
| compare | 1 | $0.0001 | Up to 20 domains |
| top, dr_distribution, tld_breakdown | 1 | $0.0001 | One target |
| refdomains, backlinks, anchors, toppages, anchor_cloud | 2 | $0.0002 | Up to 1,000 rows |
| intersect | 2 | $0.0002 | 2 to 10 domains |
| search, keyword | 3 | $0.0003 | Up to 1,000 rows |
Definitions used in the table
A credit is the unit of billing. One credit equals $0.0001, so 10,000 credits make exactly one dollar. A call is one HTTP request.
A row is one item in a returned list, for instance one backlink. Limits apply per call. The cap on deep pagination applies per query, and when you reach it the answer is to narrow the question.
Reading the table
The unit of billing is the call, not the row. Fetching 1,000 backlinks costs the same as fetching 10: two credits.
Cheapest by far is bulk_dr. Two thousand domains cost $0.0001, which is the price of a single row at per-row pricing. Deep pagination is capped at 50,000 rows, so past that depth you narrow the query instead of paging.
A new account begins with $100 of free credit, a million credits. Later top-ups are paid in USDT on TRC-20 via the account page.
Three example jobs, priced
| Job | Calls | Credits | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Score 10,000 domains with bulk_dr | 5 | 5 | $0.0005 |
| List 5,000 referring domains of one site, 1,000 per call | 5 | 10 | $0.001 |
| Anchor search across 300 brands, one call each | 300 | 900 | $0.09 |
Comparison point
Per-call pricing against subscription units
Ahrefs sells API units inside subscriptions, from $129 a month for 200,000 units, with at least 50 units per request. We sell link data alone, priced per call and cheaply. If you need keyword data, rank tracking or a daily crawl, buy Ahrefs or Semrush instead.
- Data refreshed roughly monthly
- No keyword or rank data
- See the formula entry for what DR is
This entry lists prices and per-call limits only. It states no requests-per-second figure, because none is published here. Build retries and back-off into any loop.
Pricing a run before you start
Count the domains
Say 10,000 for a prospect list. Divide by 2,000 and round up to get 5 bulk_dr calls.
Multiply by credits
5 calls at 1 credit each is 5 credits. At $0.0001 per credit that is $0.0005.
Add follow-up calls
Suppose you then list referring domains for the top 40. At 2 credits each that adds 80 credits, or $0.008.
Compare with the balance
A new account holds 1,000,000 credits. The whole example uses 85 of them. Read the error entry for what happens at zero.
Questions about the arithmetic
What does a call cost when it returns 1,000 rows?
The same as a call returning ten rows. Billing is once per call. A listing action such as backlinks costs 2 credits, or $0.0002, at any row count up to the limit.
Which action suits a long prospect list?
The bulk_dr action, which scores up to 2,000 domains for 1 credit. For 100,000 domains that is 50 calls and 50 credits, or half a cent.
Are free actions limited to the free credit?
No. Free actions cost nothing and need no key. The $100 sign-up credit applies only to paid actions.
